Lack of Diversity in Green Leadership

There is a very apparent lack of diversity within the environmentalist movement. 83 percent of board members of green organizations are white males. This is not due to a lack of POC involved in environmentalism, rather, the issue is that a lot of POC environmentalists are not given as much of a platform to speak as their counterparts.

Lack of Green Education

Students desperately need a comprehensive analysis on green careers and how they can contribute to the sustainable development sector. Environmental awareness needs to be promoted in today's youths, especially people of color, who are disporportionately affected by the effects of climate change.

Representation Matters.

Everybody, regardless of race, gender, nationality, and sexual orientation can join the environmentalist movement. The younger generations of today need to see themselves reflected at the forefront of this movement. Together, we can make that become a reality.
